In HSR, the age of the building decides the style more than taste does. In the older sectors the buildings have moved, so the walls are not straight. The newer blocks towards Somasundarapalya and Agara are straight. We check with a level at the visit instead of guessing over the phone. A wall that looks straight and a wall that is straight are not the same thing.
Frameless or a slim frame
In an older building the walls lean a little, and the opening is often a few millimetres wider at one end. Frameless glass (glass with no metal frame) has almost no room to take up that gap. So a gap shows down the edge, and the door may need packing to close.
A slim aluminium frame has that room in its channel, and it hides a lot.
In a newer block the walls are straight. There, frameless looks better and is easier to clean. Neither one is worse than the other. They suit different walls, and that is all.
Access, which is easier here than most places
The roads here are wide and laid out in a grid. So a vehicle can wait outside your building without trouble, and we carry panels only a short way.
Most buildings are three or four floors with no lift. So the turn in the staircase still decides the biggest panel we can use. We measure it on the same visit as the bathroom.
Where a single panel will not make the turn, we build the enclosure as two panels with a slim join. That is normal, and you can barely see it from a few feet away.
How the job works
- Tell us about the jobSend a few photos, rough sizes and what you need. Use WhatsApp or the form. For a repair, a short video of the door moving helps a lot.
- We call you backUsually the same day. Where we can, we give you a rough price on the call. Then you know if a visit is worth your time.
- We come and measureWe measure the opening. We also check the walls, floor, ceiling and the way in. Your glass is made to these final sizes, so they must be right.
- You get a written priceIt shows the glass, the fittings and the fitting work as separate lines. If anything about the job changes, we tell you before we go ahead.
- We make it and fit itYou approve the price and pay the advance. Then we make your glass. Our team delivers it, fits it, checks the doors line up and clears the site.
