Partition work in Old Faridabad is rarely a whole floor. It is a cabin carved out of a room above a shop, a counter put into a kothi that now runs a business, or a meeting room added where a family room used to be. The building came first and the office was fitted into it.
Getting glass up an old staircase
Most of these offices are on a first floor reached by a staircase built for people, not panels.\n\nA staircase with a half-landing and a turn has a hard limit on the length of glass that can go round it, and that limit is often shorter than the room wants.\n\nSo we measure the stairwell before we size the panels. Sometimes that means more joints than a drawing would show, and sometimes it means craning a panel through a front window instead. Either way it is decided at survey, not discovered on delivery day.
A counter is not a partition, and is priced differently
A lot of what gets asked for here as a partition is really a counter: a low fixed panel with a working top, between staff and the people they deal with.\n\nThat is a different build. It carries weight, it takes knocks at knee height, and the glass in it is usually toughened and lower than eye level.\n\nIt is also cheaper than a full-height partition, because there is less glass and no head channel. We ask what actually has to happen at that line before quoting, because the two get confused and the wrong one is either too expensive or too flimsy.
Working above a shop that is still trading
The shop below is the reason the office exists, and a day of no trade costs more than the partition.\n\nSo the noisy work - drilling the head channel and the floor track - is what we schedule, not the whole job. That part is a few hours and it can usually be done early, before the shutters go up.\n\nThe rest, glazing and sealing, is quiet enough to carry on around. We plan it that way rather than asking the shop to close, and we say at the survey which hours we actually need.
