Partition work in Saket is not general office work. A large share of the district centre is medical - clinics, dental rooms, diagnostic centres, consulting suites - and a medical room is specified differently from a desk office. Getting that difference right is most of what we do here.
Where the privacy line goes in a consulting room
In an office the frosted band goes at standing eye level, because people walk past. In a consulting room that is the wrong height, and it is the single most common thing we are asked to correct.
The person on the other side of the desk is sitting. So the band goes at seated height, which is lower, and it has to be deep enough to cover a seated person from the corridor side without darkening the room.
We set that line on site with you rather than off a drawing. Stand where the patient stands, sit where the patient sits, and mark it. It takes five minutes and it is the difference between a room that works and one that gets a film stuck over it six months later.
Doors in a room people wait outside
A clinic door and an office door look identical and do different amounts of work.
An office door opens perhaps thirty times a day. A clinic or waiting-room door opens continuously through a session, often pushed by somebody carrying a file, a child or a stick.
So it takes a commercial floor spring rather than a domestic closer, and it takes a handle that can be operated without a firm grip. The floor spring is the part set into the floor that closes the door in a controlled way, and a lighter one begins to slam within a year - which in a room where people are anxious is a real problem rather than a cosmetic one.
Fitting out above a trading retail floor
The district centre buildings run materials on their own schedule, usually early in the morning before the retail floors open, through a service entrance with a register and a goods lift.
So we agree the delivery slot before the glass is made rather than after. A slot missed here is not a delayed morning, it is a delayed day, because the next window is tomorrow.
The fitting itself is quiet and can happen during normal hours in most buildings. It is only the movement of panels that is restricted, which is worth knowing when you are planning around your own patient list.
