Repairs here follow the two kinds of building. On the road it is showroom and clinic entrance doors, opened all day and held by a floor spring that gives up in the end. Behind it, in the older societies, it is shower fittings reaching the end of their life. Neither is usually a glass problem.
Entrance doors on a main road
A showroom door on Hosur Road is used far more than an office door. The floor spring under it wears out. It is not a forever part.
You notice it as slamming, sliding open, catching on the floor, or a door that will not lock. Changing the spring is usually a two to three hour visit, and our van carries the common closers, clamps and handles.
Where a part is replaced, we fit one made for the weight of the door and the use it really sees. Fitting the same too-small part again is why some doors on this road fail every year.
Bathroom fittings in the older blocks
In a bathroom the parts that fail first are the hinges, the door seal and the silicone, in that order. The glass is almost never the problem.
If the glass is good and only those have gone, that is a real repair at a small part of the cost of a new enclosure.
If the frame has rusted and the silicone has failed behind the tiles too, replacing it is the honest answer. Send a photo of the door edge and the bottom track. We will tell you which one you have before anyone travels.
