Repairs here fall into two groups. Shop glass on Sampige Road and Margosa Road, where a broken front sits on a footpath full of people. And house glass in the streets behind, most of it older than the shops and set into wood, not aluminium.
A broken shop front on a busy road
The first job is safety, not glass. We clear the loose pieces and take out what is still hanging in the frame. Then we board the opening. Then you can trade and nobody gets hurt.
The new glass takes longer. Toughened glass (safety glass) cannot be cut after it is toughened. So we make your panel to the measured size and then fit it. That is normally a second visit a few days later.
We give you the honest date at the first visit. A shop front you can lock is worth more than a promise about tomorrow.
Glass set in old wooden frames
Many windows in these houses are plain glass held in a wooden groove with putty or a wooden bead.
We match the thickness to the groove. A wooden frame cut for four millimetre glass will not take a toughened panel. Forcing one in splits the bead.
Where the wood itself has gone soft, we say so. New glass in a rotten frame comes loose again within a season. That is not a repair worth paying for.

- We make it and fit itYou approve the price and pay the advance. Then we make your glass. Our team delivers it, fits it, checks the doors line up and clears the site.
