Schools across Bengaluru
Bengaluru gets rain in two spells. The first runs from June to September, and the second comes in October and November. Both fall inside the school year. A classroom window that will not shut then means a wet floor and wet desks. Thunder showers can start as early as April.
Mosquitoes are worst in and after the rains. The weather is mild, so classroom windows stay open for most of the year. Mesh earns its place on classroom and hostel windows here. Schools on main roads also get traffic dust, which packs into sliding window tracks.
Many schools here close for the summer in April and May. That is a good time for larger work, just before the monsoon. Our own Bengaluru team comes to Whitefield, Yelahanka, Jayanagar, Malleshwaram and the rest of the city.
