Glass for a shop on this stretch is shop glass, and we build it differently from an office partition. A front door that the public uses is opened far more often than an inside cabin door. So we choose the glass, the pivot and the door fittings for that heavy use, not for a spec sheet.

What a public entrance actually needs

A toughened glass front (safety glass), with the door on a strong floor spring made for constant public use, and a lock and handle to match.

Lighter parts look the same in a photo and cost less. They are not made for this much use. They start slamming or drifting within a year, usually while you are serving customers.

We list every part on the written price, including the glass thickness, the spring rating and the lock type. That is the only fair way to compare a cheaper quote. If the cheaper one matches ours line for line, take it.

Fitting around your trading hours

We plan around your business, not ours. Most work happens before you open or after you close. We would rather start at seven than shut your shop at lunchtime.

A door fits into a morning. A full front takes one to two days, and we do it in stages so you keep trading where possible. We board the opening overnight, so the inside stays secure.

Parking on this stretch is really hard. So deliveries are early and short. We unload, move the vehicle, and carry the panels in by hand.

Permission for anything that changes the face

A new front, a changed opening, or anything you can see from the street usually needs the building owner to agree, and sometimes more than that.

Start it as soon as you decide, not when the glass is ready. On this stretch the glass is nearly always finished before the permission is.

Inside work, such as a screen between a kitchen counter and the floor, does not usually need anything more than the landlord knowing about it.

How the job works

  1. Tell us about the jobSend a few photos, rough sizes and what you need. Use WhatsApp or the form. For a repair, a short video of the door moving helps a lot.
  2. We call you backUsually the same day. Where we can, we give you a rough price on the call. Then you know if a visit is worth your time.
  3. We come and measureWe measure the opening. We also check the walls, floor, ceiling and the way in. Your glass is made to these final sizes, so they must be right.
  4. You get a written priceIt shows the glass, the fittings and the fitting work as separate lines. If anything about the job changes, we tell you before we go ahead.
  5. We make it and fit itYou approve the price and pay the advance. Then we make your glass. Our team delivers it, fits it, checks the doors line up and clears the site.

Common questions

Can you fit the front without closing the unit?

For a door or a single panel, yes. That is a few hours before you open or after you close. For a full front, plan to be closed or partly boarded for a day, and give us your quietest day of the week. We board and cover the opening, so the inside stays safe and secure overnight.

Why is your quote higher than a local fabricator's?

Usually the door fittings. A cheaper quote on a public entrance normally means a lighter floor spring, a weaker lock and no proper seals. It fits fine and fails within a year. Our written price lists the glass thickness, the spring rating and the lock type separately, so you can compare the two properly.

Is the rate per square foot of glass or of floor?

Glass, always. It is the most common reason a price looks higher than people expect. A 10 x 8 ft cabin sounds like 80 sq ft. But if three sides are glass and each is eight feet tall, that is about 216 sq ft. Your written price shows the glass area so you can check the maths.

Is GST included in these prices?

No. Every rate on this site is before GST. Your written price shows the amount and the GST as two separate lines, so there is no surprise at the end.
