Office work in BTM is small: a coaching centre, a clinic, a two-cabin office above a shop on 16th Main. In a room that size, the door set costs more than the glass around it. This surprises people. It is worth knowing before you ask anyone for a price. It tells you where the real savings are.
Why a small cabin costs more per square foot
A full door set costs about the same in a 35 sq ft partition or a 300 sq ft one. In a small room, very little glass has to carry that cost. So the rate per square foot is higher.
That is simple maths, not a pricing policy. It is why a quote given only as a rate can mislead you.
There are two honest ways to pay less. A fixed panel with an open doorway needs no door fittings at all. And if you order both rooms together, you share one measuring visit, one delivery and one day of our team's time, instead of paying for each twice.
Getting glass up a BTM staircase
Very few buildings here have a lift. The staircases are tight, often turning at every half landing.
So the staircase decides the biggest panel we can carry, not your opening. We measure that turn on the same visit as the room.
Where a panel will not turn, we make the run as two panels. The thin joint does not show from a few feet away. We will not force a toughened panel round a corner. Toughened glass is safety glass. When it breaks, it breaks fully. And a made-to-size panel cannot be replaced from stock.
How the job works
- Tell us about the jobSend a few photos, rough sizes and what you need. Use WhatsApp or the form. For a repair, a short video of the door moving helps a lot.
- We call you backUsually the same day. Where we can, we give you a rough price on the call. Then you know if a visit is worth your time.
- We come and measureWe measure the opening. We also check the walls, floor, ceiling and the way in. Your glass is made to these final sizes, so they must be right.
- You get a written priceIt shows the glass, the fittings and the fitting work as separate lines. If anything about the job changes, we tell you before we go ahead.
- We make it and fit itYou approve the price and pay the advance. Then we make your glass. Our team delivers it, fits it, checks the doors line up and clears the site.
