Domlur is barely a kilometre across, but it holds two very different jobs. On the Old Airport Road side there are managed office parks. There, a facility team decides when we may be in the building. In the layout behind, the landlord says yes and we start. The glass is the same. Which side you are on changes the price and the date. So it is the first thing we ask.
Which side of Domlur you are on
In a managed park the order is fixed. First, facility approval, raised by you as the tenant. Then our workers' IDs. Then an insurance letter. Then a lift slot. That takes a few working days. Your glass takes the same few days to make, so we start both together.
In the layout behind, there is usually nothing to arrange. The landlord just needs to know. We can often work a normal day, and sometimes a Saturday.
Tell us the building name on the first call. Night work and booked lifts take real hours. We would rather show them in the price than add them later.
Rooms built for people on calls all day
Domlur has many small firms whose work is a headset and a screen. So the ask here is almost always the same. One person needs a room to take a call. The rest of the floor should not hear it.
That means full-height glass, sealed at the top and both sides, and a door that shuts onto a stop with no gap at the floor. Glass that stops short of the ceiling will not do it, whatever you pay.
We will not tell you it is soundproof. Sealed full-height glass brings a normal voice down to a low murmur outside the room. That is what people really want, and it is what we build.
Working around a floor that is still in use
Most Domlur offices are small. There is nowhere for your team to go while we work. So we fit in stages. We finish one cabin and hand it back before we start the next. We do not open the whole floor at once.
Toughened glass comes ready, with every hole and cut already made. Nothing can be drilled into it after it is toughened. So this removes most of the noise people expect.
What is left is fixing the clamps or the frame, and that is quick. In a park we do it in the approved time. In the layout we do it in the middle of the day.
How the job works
- Tell us about the jobSend a few photos, rough sizes and what you need. Use WhatsApp or the form. For a repair, a short video of the door moving helps a lot.
- We call you backUsually the same day. Where we can, we give you a rough price on the call. Then you know if a visit is worth your time.
- We come and measureWe measure the opening. We also check the walls, floor, ceiling and the way in. Your glass is made to these final sizes, so they must be right.
- You get a written priceIt shows the glass, the fittings and the fitting work as separate lines. If anything about the job changes, we tell you before we go ahead.
- We make it and fit itYou approve the price and pay the advance. Then we make your glass. Our team delivers it, fits it, checks the doors line up and clears the site.
