Offices here went up fast around the tech parks and are now ten to fifteen years old. So this is rarely a first fit-out. It is taking a partition down, adding a run, or re-hanging a door that has dropped. That changes which system we suggest more than it changes the price. It is worth deciding before you order, not after your second rebuild.
What can be moved and what cannot
How easy a change is depends fully on how the floor was built the first time.
Aluminium frame partitions unbolt and go back up somewhere else. Frameless panels only fit an opening of exactly the same size, because toughened glass cannot be re-cut once it is made.
So if you know your layout will keep changing, say so before you order. On this kind of building a frame often works out cheaper over five years, even where frameless is cheaper on day one. Send us a photo of the top and bottom fixings. We can tell you which one you already have.
Working around a floor that is occupied
Most of these changes happen while people are still working on the floor. So the glass moves in the evening or over a weekend. We hand the space back clean.
One cabin is usually one evening. Several are split across nights, so finished rooms come back into use while we build the rest.
A building of this age usually wants a gate pass and worker IDs. That is lighter than a full campus permit, but it still has to be arranged. Give us the building name on the first call.
How the job works
- Tell us about the jobSend a few photos, rough sizes and what you need. Use WhatsApp or the form. For a repair, a short video of the door moving helps a lot.
- We call you backUsually the same day. Where we can, we give you a rough price on the call. Then you know if a visit is worth your time.
- We come and measureWe measure the opening. We also check the walls, floor, ceiling and the way in. Your glass is made to these final sizes, so they must be right.
- You get a written priceIt shows the glass, the fittings and the fitting work as separate lines. If anything about the job changes, we tell you before we go ahead.
- We make it and fit itYou approve the price and pay the advance. Then we make your glass. Our team delivers it, fits it, checks the doors line up and clears the site.
