The practices around here see a lot of people, and the thing that makes them work or not is how the waiting and the reception are arranged. Partitions decide that. So the useful design question is not where the rooms go but where people stand, sit and queue, and what the reception can see from its desk.
Where a queue forms, and what it blocks
A queue forms wherever people first have to stop, which is usually the reception desk, and it grows backwards from there.\n\nIf that line runs across a doorway or a corridor, the whole space stops working at the busiest hour.\n\nSo we set the reception position by working out where the queue will stand and making sure it has somewhere to go that is not a route. That is a partition decision and it costs nothing to get right at layout stage, and it cannot be corrected afterwards without moving walls.
A reception that can hear without everyone hearing
At a reception desk people give their name, their complaint and sometimes their diagnosis, in front of whoever is behind them.\n\nA glazed screen with a speaking gap makes that better rather than worse, because it defines a spot to stand at and puts a little distance behind it.\n\nSo we fit a screen to chest height with a proper gap, and mark a waiting line a metre back. Both are small things. Together they are most of what makes a busy reception feel orderly rather than chaotic.
Glass that a cleaner can keep up with
In a clinic seeing a hundred people a day, the lower part of every glass panel is touched constantly and cleaned constantly.\n\nSo the detail at the bottom of a partition matters more than anything at the top: no open channel to collect dirt, no ledge, and a flush joint at the floor.\n\nWe detail it that way as standard and it costs nothing extra to specify. It is the difference between a partition that still looks right in a year and one that has a permanent grey band along its base.

- We fit itYou approve the price and pay the advance. Our own team fits the work, checks that every door and window opens and closes properly, and clears up. Most jobs are done in 3 to 4 days.
