The symptoms we repair on uPVC windows
Call us when a shutter drags, will not close, rattles in wind, lets dust or rain through, or has a handle that turns without locking. We work on sliding, casement and tilt-and-turn uPVC windows.
A short video of the window moving helps us prepare, but it does not replace the site check. Similar symptoms can come from different parts, and changing the wrong part wastes both time and money.
How we find the actual fault
We first operate the window slowly and watch where it meets the frame. Then we check roller height or hinge alignment, the handle and locking gear, the rubber seals, and the drainage path.
This order matters. For example, a stiff handle often works normally once a dropped shutter is aligned. In that case you pay for alignment, not for a handle and gear you did not need.
What the visit includes
The ₹1,350 visit covers travel, inspection and up to 90 minutes of work. Cleaning tracks and drains, resetting alignment, adjusting keeps and freeing a stuck mechanism are visit work.
Handles, roller pairs, gears and replacement rubber are separate parts. We identify the matching part, show you the price and wait for approval. If a special profile has to be sourced, we secure the window and give you the return date in writing.
The checks before we leave
A repaired sliding window must run end to end without dragging. A hinged shutter must meet its seal evenly and lock without force. Drain holes must release water outside, not into the sill.
We repeat the movement several times and ask you to try it too. The job is complete when the window moves, seals and locks as it should, not when a new part has merely been installed.
Repair or replace the whole uPVC window
Most uPVC faults belong to the moving shutter or its hardware. Rollers, handles, locking gears and rubber seals are replaceable parts. A sound outer frame can stay in the wall while those parts are repaired. This avoids plaster damage and keeps a useful window in service.
Replacement becomes sensible when the outer frame is cracked, badly twisted or pulling away from the wall. It can also be the better answer when several internal chambers have broken and a shutter will not hold its shape. We show you the structural fault before suggesting a new window. A stiff handle or one leaking corner alone is not a reason to replace the full frame.
Cracked or misted double-glazed glass
Many uPVC windows hold a double-glazed unit: two panes of glass sealed together with a gap between. If one pane cracks, or the gap mists up inside and will not wipe clear, the seal of that unit has failed.
The glass unit is replaced on its own. The uPVC frame and shutter stay in the wall. We measure the unit, make a new one to that size, and fit it with new glazing beads where the old ones have gone brittle.
Misting between the panes cannot be cleaned or dried from outside. Only a new unit clears it.
How to help us identify the correct uPVC part
uPVC hardware is not universal. Two handles can look alike from the room and use different spindle lengths or screw spacing. Rollers and locking gears also change with the frame system.
Send one photo of the complete window, one close photo of the part and a short video of the fault. Put a ruler beside a handle or roller if it is already loose. Do not dismantle a locked window to find a model number. We take the working measurements safely on site. Good photos help us bring likely parts, while the site check confirms the exact match before anything is fitted.
